Anne Husebekk has passed away

It is with deep sadness that we learned that Anne Husebekk passed away on 5 December 2025, after a period of illness. She was 69 years old when she passed.

Anne was a great supporter of the Norwegian Scientific Academy for Polar Research and in April 2025 she was elected member of the board. She brought vast knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, and integrity to our academy along dimensions of education, research, policy, ethics and passion for the Arctic. Sadly, her illness prevented her from engaging as she had hoped.

We will miss her insights, warm personality, and her sense of humour.
